Why open up shop? Well, Lauren has a fashion design background, I have a graphic design background so we figured why don’t we do something with our skills! As far as exactly what to do, that was easy.

Lauren and I grew up in Boise, Idaho and have known each other since elementary school. Ever since we were old enough to care about clothes, fashion and design we have. Our first inspiration was Barbara and Barbara, our favorite local boutique with independent designer clothes that couldn’t be found in the local mall. (Growing up in the 90’s in Boise, Idaho that was pretty much the mecca of our fashion world). It was owned by two friends by the name of Barbara and Barbara. Our last names are Benner and Brennan and we spent a lot of time dreaming up our version of their store...and of course how ours would be better. In fact, we came up with the name LABB as a combination of our names: Lauren Benner And Brijean Brennan. Yeah, its a pretty loose interpretation but we feel a modern homage to how this crazy idea got started.

Years later, in spite of living across the country from one another - Lauren in Brooklyn, NY and I in Seattle, WA - we’ve been able to maintain our friendship and our dream of one day owing a shop!
